There’s no question that the current iPod Nano(6G) is incredibly small(maybe even the smallest pmp in the world), but unfortunately that size has some downsides. With a size this small, you tend to drop it more often than a standard mp3 player. Sure you can protect it with a case, but most cases don’t protect the screen. That’s where a screen protector comes in to play and why you should get one if you don’t want any scratches on your $129-$149 iPod Nano’s screen. The screen is where all the action takes place and that’s why it should be protected the most. Recently, we were sent a set of SGP Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint Screen Protectors for the iPod Nano 6G($11.99) by our friends over at CreTouch. Having used the screen protector on my iPod Nano 6G for a few days, I can happily report that I’ve been quite satisfied.
What’s in the box
Like with most SGP screen protectors, SGP provides everything you’ll need to achieve a perfect screen protector installation. You’ll find: 1 hard plastic squeegee, 6 dust removal stickers, 1 microfiber cloth, 2 Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint films. An authenticity card is also included to guarantee that the product is in fact 100% legit. You can view the pictures below to see everything closely.
Installation

Installation was pretty easy thanks to all the included tools. I like how dust removal stickers were included to help get dust out before and after placing the screen protector. If you don’t know how to use the dust removal stickers, it’s pretty simple. Microfibers clean the screen, but chances are dust specks still remain. To get those dust particles out, you use the sticker to remove them. If you see any bubbles after you placed the screen protector, you use one sticker to lift up the screen protector and get another one to remove the dust on the screen. If the bubbles still show, the dust may actually be on the screen protector itself; so instead of removing dust on the screen with the sticker, remove it from the protector. Features

As with any anti-fingerprint screen protector, the SGP anti-fingerprint screen protector mitigates fingerprints from showing up on the iPod Nano’s screen. Some still appear hear and then, but they’re not as apparent as they would be without the screen protector. With the screen protector’s matte coating, glare is also reduced for improved outdoor viewing.
Screen Quality, Distortion

Like with most Anti-Fingerprint screen protectors, you will notice some screen distortion with the SGP Anti-Fingerprint screen protector. This is because Anti-fingerprint films have a frost-like matte coating. This coating is what allows for the reduction of fingerprints and glare, but the downside is that screen quality is reduced. The iPod Nano 6G isn’t used for graphically intensive media consumption so screen quality loss isn’t a whole big deal. As long as I’m able to see the screen and make out the text, that’s all that really matters.
Conclusion
I can highly recommend the SGP Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint Screen Protector for the iPod Nano 6G. For $11.99, it keep scratches away from your iPod’s screen and improves it usage with less fingerprints and better viewing. The quality is simply superb and excellent. If you’re wondering whether SGP’s Anti-Fingerprint or Ultra Crystal will be better, I’d go with the Anti-Fingerprint. Despite the slight screen distortion, I’d take minimal glare and fingerprints over a clearer display because with the Nano 6G, there’s really no multimedia viewing at all.
